Swindon Trades Union Council is the body which brings together TUC affiliated unions in the Swindon area. Local union branches that are affiliated send along delegates to our monthly meeting.
It is a campaigning body which deals with workplace issues as well as issues which impact on the local community.
We have campaigned against Council House privatisation, the ‘development’ of Coate Water, and have recently launched a campaign for the abolition of NHS prescription charges in all the UK (they have been abolished in Wales and are being progressively phased out in Scotland).
We hold a yearly conference of union Health & Safety reps from local workplaces, in Swindon and Wiltshire.
If your union branch is not affiliated email us at swindontuc@btinternet.com for an affiliation form. We meet on the first wednesday in the month. You can also contact Secretary Martin Wicks on 07786 394593
